Peanut Sauce
That you can pretty much put on anything! Love me some peanut butter, but a sauce is a great alternative to cheese sauces that traditionally go on things (i.e. broccoli)
- 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup Tamari
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 tsp fresh ginger (ginger powder will work if need 1/2 tsp)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- Coconut milk or water, as necessary to thin for desired consistency
Put all ingredients in a small sauce pan and heat over low heat. You can mix in a mixing bowl, but I prefer to heat, seems to mix better. If the mixture is too thick slowly add coconut milk or water 1 Tbsp at a time to reach the thickness you like.
Goes great with any Asian dish, serve with apples, offer as a dip for vegetables and my personal favorite over broccoli!
