Classic Hummus


We've been making this recipe for years and were first introduced to it at our favorite Arizona olive oil store Queen Creek Olive Mill.  Print recipe here.



1 can garbanzo beans (drain, but reserve the liquid [Aquafaba] to adjust consistency of hummus
2 garlic cloves
2 Tbsp tamari (or soy sauce)
3 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil *(plain or flavor infused for variety)
3 Tbsp tahini

Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth.  Top with roasted chickpeas for added flavor and texture.

*EVOO alteration suggestions: roasted chili, Persian lime, rosemary.  You can also add herbs, spices, roasted red peppers, etc. to modify the flavor of your hummus.
